Bacon Alarm Clock anyone?

Tired of those EARitating alarm clock sounds? Those mind shattering snooze alerts?

I feel you.

It's so hard to wake up in the morning! Seriously, it takes a lot of will power to get up early and plan your day ahead. It's a talent...a skill! Thank God I have my ever reliable mom to be my morning alarm clock. And the best thing about it? My alarm clock is not repetitive. Not the same tone each and everyday! It depends if she's in a good or bad mood. *Love you mom! :)*

But...I can't pass on this one. The Wake N' Bacon alarm clock! Instead of hearing those annoying alarm clock sound and snooze alerts, it uses the smell of a cooked bacon to wake you up. Cool heaps! I want one...NOW! Want to know more? Click Click!

by Matty Sallin, Daniel Bartolini, Hsiao-huh Hsu

WHAT: An alarm clock that wakes you up with the smell and sizzle of cooking bacon.

WHY: No one likes to wake up, especially by an alarm. This clock gently wakes you up with the mouthwatering aroma of bacon, just like waking up on a Sunday morning to the smell of Mom cooking breakfast. Unless you're Jewish.

HOW: A frozen strip of bacon is placed in Wake n' Bacon the night before. Because there is a 10 minute cooking time, the clock is set to go off 10 minutes before the desired waking time. Once the alarm goes off, the clock it sends a signal to a small speaker to generate the alarm sound. We hacked the clock so that the signal is re-routed by a microchip that in responds by sending a signal to a relay that throws the switch to power two halogen lamps that slow-cook the bacon in about 10 minutes.

Thanks to J for introducing me to this scientific breakthrough! Hahaha!

Tartans and Checks!

From old school clan representation to present fab! Tartans and checks have come a long loooong way. On your left is John Campbell of the Bank year 1749 and on your right is one of D&G's Autumn/Winter 08 collection. See the similarities?

Tartans are no longer exclusive for Scotland...the trend has invaded every closet (almost?). You may not have noticed it but I bet there's 1 piece in your closet with boxlike patterns. See!

Trivia: Plaid is the term used for Tartan in North America. Owel, Tartan, check or plaid..it doesn't matter. Although it looks uniform-y (St. Paul hs student? hehe)...i still like it. I don't know why.

Here's a glimpse of Topshop's newest collection...i like! :)
And from Mango's fall collection...

From D&G and RL's Autumn/Winter collection...

Shaboom shaboom...tralalalalala...denim denim...tralalalala...

Denims evolve every after season. This time, the more tattered the funkier!

Like RBils on the right, white tee and tattered jeans. hihihi. I miss the OC. Well there's also another option, like Leighton on her denim dress. Cute.

Bottomline is, go get those old 501s from your closet and be the newest BFF of your scissors! Your rules, your style!

Blairbands on your wrist!

With the rise of the Blairbands...here comes the Blairwatch (Not its official name hehe. I just like to call it as such. :P). But outside the corners of the Upper East Side invasion, it's called the Betsey Johnson Bow Watch.

I'm not really a big fan of Blairbands because I think it's too flashy for my age. I'm a corporate slave at 24 and Blairbands will make me look like a Minnie Mouse wannabe while meeting with other ferosh corporate slaves. Therefore, Blairbands...not-an-option! :P But it's cute...when not overdone. Do you feel me M? Haha.

But this Blairwatch, I like. :) Betsey Johnson is an idealist of cuteness. Reminds me of those Sweet 16 days. Haha.

For more Betsey Johnson, check this out.

Macbook Touch...for real?

MacRumors are all over the place...Apple's next big thing...the Macbook TOUCH!

According to MacNewsDaily,

'Think MacBook screen, possibly a bit smaller, in glass with iPhone-like, but fuller-featured Multi-Touch. Gesture library. Full Mac OS X. This is why they bought P.A. Semi. Possibly with Immersion's haptic tech. Slot-loading SuperDrive. Accelerometer. GPS. Pretty expensive to produce initially, but sold at "low" price that will reduce margins. Apple wants to move these babies. And move they will. This is some sick shit. App Store-compatible, able to run Mac apps, too. By October at the latest.'

I totally dig the concept. But will they compromise the screen size? Considering that they'll embed the keyboard in to the screen...uhmm let's just wait and see...IF it's true.

Sheez...what can Apple not do these days?

Must-see: The Dark Knight

First Batman Movie I ever saw - and I couldn't ask for a better debut!

Amazing Movie.
Amazing Screenplay.
Amazing Shots, finally Gotham City found daylight!

Amazing Cast.
AMAZING CAST!

Aaron Eckhart, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman (nevermind Maggie, kidding).

HEATH LEDGER! If you need more reasons to fear clowns, watch this flick! Haha.
He is Joker. Jack Nicholson WHO?!
I'm not patronizing him (RIP).
He's really good.
He stole the show.

And CHRISTIAN BALE..
That stare..It melts my heart..I love him!
I know he's been around for ages. I use to see him all the time, on the pages of Seventeen/YM back in the mid-90s. He's always the Next Big Thing or The Hottest Bachelor Around, but was never given a break as huge as playing Bruce Wayne. Who stood a chance versus 90's Leo Di Caprio, even the pre-Titanic days, anyway? He is a very good actor(American Psycho)! Very good, hot actor..And that stare..Christian..Look at me..Choose me..Haha.

If you have a chance, go see it in IMAX. Nice aerial shots!

Go. Go. GO!

(Note 20/07/2008: Since I'm officially a Balehead - and this close to starting a fansite, haha- I did a little research. Turned out, although he was the first choice to play American Psycho, he did lost it to Leo for a while! Luckily he won it back!)

And so we meet again...CHOTOS mi love!

Yes that's mi love...mi CHOTOS! :) We've been apart for so long (11 months, 10 days and 13 hours), enough to make me go berserk when I found out that we can be together again!

I can just remember that one sweet Singapore afternoon. Everything was so perfect. I found my love! Yet it wasn't too long when the taste went away. Sorrow.

But just a few hours ago...thank God for New Hatchin Japanese grocery store...we were reunited! :D

I'm so happy that I called the store in advance to check for its availability and price! It is demand and supply baby! It's time to hoard and fall in love again with a stash of Chotos! You can't go wrong! :P

Now my baby pooch is just as Chotos crazy as I am! Itadakimasu! :P

TOPSHOP private sale!

Just got my invitation to Topshop's annual private sale this coming August 1. The invite is sooo cute! Really looks like a passport! weee! :D

Click click to see what's inside!

When: August 1, 2008 (Friday)
Time: 12NN to 9PM
Where: Topshop / Topman / Dorothy Perkins outlets here in the Philippines
Details: Up to 50% off on their Spring / Summer 2008 collection and 10% off on their Autumn / Winter 2008 collection

My personal suggestion: If you're with boyfriend or any guy friend, try to visit the SM MOA or Powerplant branches. You can fully utilize your invite with these 2 cuz they have Topshop and Topman...plus DP is just around the corner. It's like hitting 3 birds with one stone. Or should I say, raiding lots and lots of racks with just 1 invite? Haha.

But I think the GB3 branch has a widerange of selection. It's also a good choice. TS at Robinsons Place Midtown wing just opened. That branch may have good selections as well. And oh, you can't miss those lovely pieces at the Bonifacio High Street branch!

Sheez. So hard to decide where to go.

Must-Read: Chasing Harry Winston

We have to break the silence here.

Sorry, work's hell.

I've been wanting to read this for a month now. Two weekends ago, I finally got the chance to curl up on my bed and indulge in some socially-relevant literature (Financial Times,Wall Street, chick lit...). Haha
From the writer of The Devil Wears Prada and Everyone Worth Knowing, this book doesn't disappoint -especially for the ladies around my age (M here), when the invisible race to the altar (or the climb up the corporate ladder) is ironically hard to miss. Hahaha

Anyway, I don't think you need any convincing.
Afterall, a tired, tired working girl can't read too many chick lits!

Jay Z's version of Wonderwall @ Glastonbury Festival 2008

I just wish JayZ didn't make a version of this song. :( His rap skills are great...but singing Wonderwall? Of all songs! Why did he do that? He wasn't even singing...I thought he was...rapping? He could've just proceed with '99 problems' without doing a Wonderwall cover. That could've been better. I listened to it once. Maybe it hasn't sinked in to me yet? No.

Noel Gallagher even said that 'JayZ is wrong for Glasto'.

Owel.
