BRUCAS: The Rising (Again)

Remember ONE TREE HILL? The show everyone used to love? Well anyway, apparently Season 5 just ended. And in the last few episodes ( I read TV.COM!), it seems like Brooke and Lucas have been getting a lot of airtime - TOGETHER. Bliss!

I love Chuck and Blair, but BRUCAS does the tease/and a whole lot of drama best ! One of the main reasons I stopped watching OTH is because Season 4 was mainly about Peyton and Luke! (The other being the show's lackluster wardrobe. Dress like you live in Manhattan!Haha)

Now after two seasons of ditching OTH, I can't wait for Season 6. Give me a little bit of Brooke and Luke, and I'm hooked again. I'm that easy to please. And weird I know, for a girl in her mid-20s, I surely enjoy teen dramas.

Just for fun, who would you like to see back together, Brooke and Lucas or Peyton and Lucas (er..Lindsay and Lucas)?

GOSSIP GIRL season ender...thoughts?

IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET...DO NOT CONTINUE READING! SPOILER ALERT :)

Just finished watching GG's season ender. Here are my random thoughts.
  • Chuck is such an A-hole! She's ditching B for some blonde chick. He definitely hasn't changed. Well, except for the absence of his signature scarf this episode. I was looking for the scarf and it's nowhere to be found. Haha!
  • Summer is definitely upcoming and scorching for the upper east siders! ooh...those dresses! yellow, pink and orange! yum for GG's fruit basket. I love Serena's the most. Yellow dress, black belt and the gloves...love it!
  • S and D's breakup is...uhm...i don't know. Maybe just an excuse for D and V to hook up again? Same with N and S. Sheez...the complication makes my head ache.
  • That part where our lil devil Georgie met her parents through Dan and Blair's setup was fun! Blair is no doubt the craziest bitch in town! No one surpasses the Queen B! :P
What are your thoughts?

TOPSHOP Goodie Bag

I got one!
What's inside? Details after the jump! :)

What a lovely way to end a crappy day(week!)

I was ready to head home after having dinner with some people from work, when I decided to check if a re-opening announcement has been posted in TOPSHOP Greenbelt 4. After all, the store re-vamp has been going on for a while now! The store's absence is no fun.

So, imagine my delight when I saw caterers right in front of the always perfectly window-dressed store that is TS..

It could only mean one thing.

My mecca is back!!

Initially, I wasn't sure if I should go inside the store because

1. It's already past 10pm.

2. It looked like the store's holding a private event. I couldn't possibly pull-off party-crashing wearing flats!Haha.

But like a true-blue TOPSHOP addict, skipping a chance to browse through the store racks is not really an option. So I casually sneaked in. Bliss! No one really noticed that I'm uninvited! I immediately gravitated towards the swimwear section.. Maillot!! I want it!! But skip. It's been raining hard the past few days. Next, the small shoe section. Cute flats as usual. I wanted to try on the bejewelled gladiators, but SKIP again. I'll be off to Singapore in a few days. SINGAPORE = Charles &Keith!

Spotted the ombre short dress. Skip again.

I was making my way to the Petite section, when I heard someone called my name! Cute boy, immaculately dressed, brother of my best friend, Topshop insider. He asked me why I came in late. Late??

Turned out I was invited! I♥, we were invited! How come I didn't know! Anyway, as a guest, of course I'm entitled to receive the loot!! FREEBIES! Who hates freebies!!

Here are some of the free stuff:

TOPSHOP ec0-bag with anchor prints
PREVIEW Magazine, May 2008 Issue (I already own a copy, who wants to have it?)
NATASHA BEDINGFIELD CD
LANCOME and NEUTROGENA samples
Some ready-to-drink COCKTAILS! etc.

Not bad, no?

Anyway, the branch is not officially open yet, so we might have to wait for an announcement in the next few days. Too bad I didn't have my cam with me, I wanted to take pictures! The Greenbelt 4 store is by far the branch with the best store lay-out and interiors (at least for me). Plus I think this one carries a wide selection of clothes, shoes, and bags of new designs.
I don't think I have to explain further. TOPSHOP is always divine.

By the way, many, many thanks to RAF for the invites (which of course I didn't receive!). You're looking really good! I swear, he's so fasyon , I look like a rag next to him. Thanks!

Pop Secret : RICO SALANDANAN

Well if you work in the Makati area, this little haven is probably not unknown to you.

I've been lurking around Landmark for the last 4 years regularly(!), but I must confess that it was only early last year when I really took notice of this spot. Admit it(yes you, Landmark-goer!) the shop display has TITA clothes (trans. AUNT) written all over it. The colors either too flamboyant or too bland. The shape, the design, a little odd. If you're under 30, their front display, I'm betting, is not exactly your taste. Exactly my thoughts, before.

The next time you're around the area, I urge you to consider exploring the inner racks of Rico Salandanan. You'll be surprised to see that their clothes are versatile, vibrant, and in fact, ageless!

I think the cut is very nice. The details in the clothes are pretty (origami-folds, pleats, bows, huge buttons). At one point, I felt some of the dresses looked like it was straight from Roland Mouret's runway (remember the galaxy dress?)! More importanly, it's affordable!! I recently bought a yellow dress (tulip-shaped, with front pleats) for less than Php700. Not bad, considering that it's well-made and NOT MASS-PRODUCED!

I'll try to post pictures of my previous purchases soon (really busy these days). I've got this really nice i-mean-business skirt, block color dress, totally papansin (flashy??) cropped-jacket etc.

Go!! Pay a visit soon! Especially now, when it seems Librarian Chic is here to stay! Go Lily van der Woodsen!Branches: The Landmark in Makati and Trinoma.

Must-Have: Florals (Featuring Balenciaga, Ms. Susie B, and Myself again)

Don't go there. Please don't quote Miranda Priestly..

(Florals? For spring? Ground breaking.)

We all watched The Devil Wears PRADA so we all should have memorized that line by now (defensive much?*wink).

Anyway, after having a number of seasons with retro-print dresses and block color skirts/tops on heavy rotation, don't you feel it's about time to finally embrace the traditional feminine?

Everyone's been wearing tiny white dresses, bright tops with short shorts (or leggings!). That's OK. After all, in Manila, comfort is KEY. But wouldn't it be nice too see more blooms, more un-studied combination of colors, more prints? I for one get loads of compliment everytime I wear the pictured skirt (Above. fyi. Topshop. got it on discount ages ago). Check out the following:

Flick Pick: Iron Man

Watched Iron Man today and I must say that it was a pretty good movie! The story...the effects and the thespians!

Click click for my thoughts! :)

I like Gwyneth (but not as obssessive as M haha wink wink to my love M! :p) for as long as I can remember. Remember Great Expectations with Ethan Hawke? Gawd that was a good movie and not to mention its brilliant soundtrack. Anyway, back to Iron Man.

I didn't know who Iron Man was before I watched the movie. I'm not a comic fan. Sorry. But I guess I had my fair share of the Marvel superheroes, the more popular ones like Spiderman, the Hulk and the Xmen. But not Iron Man. I even thought that it was a sequel for the Man in the Iron Mask. Haha stupid me.

And Robert Downey Jr? I thought he was way too old for the character. But some of my more comic wise friends said that he was perfect for the role. It was like putting the character to life...literally! So much for my comics-know-who....it's poor judgment of me. Apologies.

But after watching the movie, my rants were all washed up!

BTW, for all you guys who haven't watched the movie yet, wait after the ending credits. There's a little surprise video clip! :) Everyone was saying that it was cool. But the ignorant me just couldn't decipher who the mystery man was until boyfriend explained it further. haha.

I guess I just have to read more comics. :)

StereoLove: Violet Hill by Coldplay

Press to Play.

Thoughts on the new Coldplay song? Well, I personally loved it. The intro is a virus! It gets you infected at an instant! This song is something different from their usual style. Loved the guitar, it gives some old school rock and roll vibe. I don't know. It just feels like it. And the lyrics... 'So if you love me, won't you let me know?...' No doubt it's from Coldplay. :p

Old School Pop - The Gwyneth Effect

This is sick. I'm sorry. But if you were a child of the 90's completely obsessed with US Vogue, chances are, you did wish you can trade lives (or just boyfriends) with Gwyneth. Not a popular sentiment. But I'm glad to know there are still a few non-haters left out there. Apparently my GP can still hawk like all the Millers and the Olsens of the world. See the link to one my fave fashion blogs.
