TOPSHOP private sale!
Just got my invitation to Topshop's annual private sale this coming August 1. The invite is sooo cute! Really looks like a passport! weee! :D

Where: Topshop / Topman / Dorothy Perkins outlets here in the Philippines
Details: Up to 50% off on their Spring / Summer 2008 collection and 10% off on their Autumn / Winter 2008 collection
My personal suggestion: If you're with boyfriend or any guy friend, try to visit the SM MOA or Powerplant branches. You can fully utilize your invite with these 2 cuz they have Topshop and Topman...plus DP is just around the corner. It's like hitting 3 birds with one stone. Or should I say, raiding lots and lots of racks with just 1 invite? Haha.
But I think the GB3 branch has a widerange of selection. It's also a good choice. TS at Robinsons Place Midtown wing just opened. That branch may have good selections as well. And oh, you can't miss those lovely pieces at the Bonifacio High Street branch!
Sheez. So hard to decide where to go.

Must Have : Snake-y Moves
Can somebody in Manila knock-off these knock-offs already??
I paid a visit to Topshop -practically everyday of my stay in Singapore- just to see these Kenneth Jay Lane inspired bangles. (Breakfast at Tiffany's the High Street Shopper Way. Haha)
I'm not really into accesorizing (not counting SHOES!), but on the rare occassions that I actually indulge, I want them BIG,bold, and almost flashy. This explains my current obsession with snake details.
Manila retailers, time to start some snake-y style attempts.

Great Singapore Sale: SHOE Edition
Believe it or not, I did not go to Singapore because it's the Great Singapore Sale.
I was there to be with my bestessst friends in the whole world! Hang-out. Raid their fridge. Force them to buy free lunches for myself. Sleep in all day.. You know how a bum's life works.
Honestly, shopping wasn't really a top priority.
But... since I was already there, I felt I might as well embrace the whole Orchard/Vivo/Suntec brouhahaha!!
(Sorry, that's the innate shopaholic in me taking over)
So here's a rundown of the financial damages--- SHOE EDITION!
I bought a few pairs of flats.. One pair is for my sister (white Melissa, she's a nurse). And for myself I got 3 pairs of Topshop flats..Yes. THREE. Haha
Before you crucify me though, you should know that every pair was 60%-70% discounted..
You're drooling... I know..
(Look at that ballet shoes in the middle. Looookaaadat! The most adorable leopard spots.. I'm not myself when I'm wearing it, I'm Audery Hepburn..)
Oh, I got another pair of embellished TOPSHOP flats, for I♥.
Below, are the stuff I got for my colleagues (I choose the goods, they pay!).
Always, always Charles & Keith.
On sale or not, most C&K pairs in Singapore sells at (least) half the price of a Manila C&K pair.
That's worth the money spent on plane tickets.. I think. Haha
Total Damage for these four pairs? Around 128 SGD or $94.00.
I'll try to post the rest of my purchases (clothes) in the coming days.
By the way, if you're planning to visit SNG to shop, I say go around the month of July/August.. By then, most things are further marked down.

TOPSHOP Goodie Bag

What a lovely way to end a crappy day(week!)
I was ready to head home after having dinner with some people from work, when I decided to check if a re-opening announcement has been posted in TOPSHOP Greenbelt 4. After all, the store re-vamp has been going on for a while now! The store's absence is no fun.
So, imagine my delight when I saw caterers right in front of the always perfectly window-dressed store that is TS..
It could only mean one thing.
My mecca is back!!
Initially, I wasn't sure if I should go inside the store because
1. It's already past 10pm.
2. It looked like the store's holding a private event. I couldn't possibly pull-off party-crashing wearing flats!Haha.
But like a true-blue TOPSHOP addict, skipping a chance to browse through the store racks is not really an option. So I casually sneaked in. Bliss! No one really noticed that I'm uninvited! I immediately gravitated towards the swimwear section.. Maillot!! I want it!! But skip. It's been raining hard the past few days. Next, the small shoe section. Cute flats as usual. I wanted to try on the bejewelled gladiators, but SKIP again. I'll be off to Singapore in a few days. SINGAPORE = Charles &Keith!
Spotted the ombre short dress. Skip again.
I was making my way to the Petite section, when I heard someone called my name! Cute boy, immaculately dressed, brother of my best friend, Topshop insider. He asked me why I came in late. Late??
Turned out I was invited! I♥, we were invited! How come I didn't know! Anyway, as a guest, of course I'm entitled to receive the loot!! FREEBIES! Who hates freebies!!

Anyway, the branch is not officially open yet, so we might have to wait for an announcement in the next few days. Too bad I didn't have my cam with me, I wanted to take pictures! The Greenbelt 4 store is by far the branch with the best store lay-out and interiors (at least for me). Plus I think this one carries a wide selection of clothes, shoes,and bags of new designs.
I don't think I have to explain further. TOPSHOP is always divine.
By the way, many,many thanks to RAF for the invites (which of course I didn't receive!). You're looking really good! I swear, he's so fasyon , I look like a rag next to him. Thanks!

Must-Have: Florals (Featuring Balenciaga, Ms. Susie B, and Myself again)
Don't go there. Please don't quote Miranda Priestly..
(Florals? For spring? Ground breaking.)
We all watched The Devil Wears PRADA so we all should have memorized that line by now (defensive much?*wink).
Anyway, after having a number of seasons with retro-print dresses and block color skirts/tops on heavy rotation, don't you feel it's about time to finally embrace the traditional feminine?
Everyone's been wearing tiny white dresses, bright tops with short shorts (or leggings!). That's OK. After all, in Manila, comfort is KEY. But wouldn't it be nice too see more blooms, more un-studied combination of colors, more prints? I for one get loads of compliment everytime I wear the pictured skirt (Above. fyi. Must-Have: Gladiator Sandals (Featuring Style Twins: Gwyneth and Myself)
Oh Gwyneth! I knew it! Black skinnies, black polish and gladiator sandals. Completely predictable outfit, but still! I've always felt we have so much in common.
(That was slighty off the topic. Apologies. I just had to mention Gwyneth.)

Admit it! Gladiator sandals have proven it's staying power. It was first seen in 2005, worn by the likes of Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. Since then it's been re-invented in at least 101 ways. Ultra-dominatrix versions ( Ashley Olsen in Alaia). Flat, knee-high ( Chanel worn by Mary-Kate). Metallic (popular with every A-E listers known to man). Fast-forward to today, and we have the summer-perfect version: Jellies.

Shoe Fantasies: Topshop
Do you remember the time when there was only one Topshop store in Manila?
That was 6-7 years ago. I miss that branch.Not only was it the biggest Topshop in the country (around the same size of an average Zara store), but it also used to offer loads of clothes/bags from Miss Selfridge.
And the shoes. I miss the real shoes. I mean the ones that give you a headache, vertigo.
Pardon my taste, but I appreciate the extra lift.
Topshop please, bring back the wide accesories selection you used to have.
