classic confections @ greenbelt 5

dessert yumminess now at greenbelt 5. :)~

strolling @ gb5 not only offers you a sight of high-end stores but also places to dine and have dessert. for your sweet tooth, i'm sure you wouldn't dare to miss a place full of sinful desserts like classic confections. :)

classic confections is a nice place to chat or just chillax. or maybe a good place to go after a stressful day from work or just a bad day (from a heartbreak maybe? haha). it's a place where you can cry your heart out (not literally of course, it's still a public place cmon! but a frown or teardrop won't hurt dont you think? hahah kidding!). but seriously, it's a sweet heaven for the happy and sad people. for the sad ones, eating sweets boosts the release of endorphins and enkephalins (happy enzymes! :D) which can make you happy and reduce stress. You can click here to learn more about this enzyme and peptide. well, enough of the nerd talk! all im trying to say is that it's a classy yet not too flashy place to have a dessert..period. haha.

i was able to taste their rum cake! yum yum! walnuts on top of the rum cake...genius! :) but i have yet to taste their 'best dessert'...nono's chocolate oblivion. it was even awarded by food magazine as one of manila's top ten desserts. such great expecations for this one huh? can't wait...so nono..i'll be seeing you soon love! :) haha.

Myphone's S22 duo : the first dual active sim slider phone

a treat for all you guys with 2 sim cards! goodbye 2 bulky phones..hello 1 chic phone! :)

ive been looking for a dual sim phone for ages and ive came across this love. ive heard so much about dual sim china phones and how each unit is being tracked for confiscation by the government due to lack of standards. these phones are said to be dangerous and can even cause fire into your homes...eeek! i dont want that! and as much as i want those cheap dual sim phones with nice features (touch screen, 2MP cam, bluetooth, 3g, TV!!), it's not the best way to go.

now, myphone introdues the s22 duo. this is the first dual active sim slider phone in the market. it is more chic looking compared to other dual sim phones (most dual sim phones look like PDAs). and the s22 comes in 5 different colors! ooh la la...please gimme the red one on my bday! :D

cost is around 7500k. way cheaper than that of verzio's! probably on the same price range of some china phones. it comes with a warranty! yipee! downside: no bluetooth. boo! but..i think it's still a great phone. usb connection seems fine to me.

you guys can check http://www.myphone.com.ph/ for more information.

suckao: sip and stir twisted chocolate drink

max brenner is well known for their chocolates and newborn waiters (haha..chocolate by the BALD man that is) but who wouldve thought that a twisted and fun chocolate drink resides at their menu. i didnt think so. well yeah...im amazed by their *drumdroll* SUCKAO.

from their own menu, max brenner descbribes Suckao as the espresso of the chocolate drinks. it is a small, dense, concentrated shot of rich chocolate. the term "Suckao" is made up of two words that describe the utensil and the unique drink it contains:

Suck - to draw the dense liquid through the metal tube.

Kakao - the spanish word for cocoa beans from which the rich chocolate drink is made and which determines its quality.

Thus the name Suckao.

But to live up to this exciting drink, we should all know the key elements:

  • suckao glass / mug - a special glass where you mix the chocolate and milk. it has 2 holes which allows you to see if the candle is still lit. btw, the candle serves as your chocolate drink heater. but you can always lift the glass and move it away from the candle if the temperature is already ok. you can put it back again if it cools down.
  • the stirrer / straw - is what makes this drink extra special! two in one! you stir and you sip through this! need i say more? haha!

visit max brenner for a real life feel of the suckao! :)

B looks like Rachel Leigh Cook in this shot

apartment 1b: gourmet comfort food

i learned about a1b a couple of months ago while strolling @ salcedo. the concept was interesting and so is the name. simple yet classy... 'apartment1b'. but it didnt came to me that it's really an apartment with the unit name 1b. i wonder where's apartment1a? ha-ha.

located at one lafayette, a1b (formerly confusion bar) is a pretty good place to hang out. not to mention the cozy ambiance especially on the second floor where the sofas are.but a good dining place always comes with a price and this place is no exception. expect to spend 2000-2500 if you're eating a set meal with a partner. well, not bad for a special date. *wink*

spaghetti bolognese

grilled porkchops

i heard that their cheesecake is the best..uhm..probably a must try on my next visit. :)

oscar fashion nth degree of separation

Before you read this post, I think there are a few interesting (?!) things you should know about me:

1. I am a banker. I actually understand those financial terms coined especially to confuse people.

2. I live beyond my means. haha

3. My leg hurts when I wear flats.

4. I'm a closet nerd.

5. I love water sports but I can't swim.

6. I am one of the few (around 5 ) people who still love gwyneth paltrow.

7. My memory span rivals the brain capacity of a goldfish, but strangely...

8. I have knack for remembering random non-sense, like the plate number of my college crush, the number of songs in my ipod, and yes, I know who wore what at the Oscars.

You see, I have never watched the actual ceremony. But the red carpet?? ! I couldn't possibly avoid it, even if I try (huh?haha). Every year I find myself updating an imaginary Academy Awards fashion scorecard. Cameron in Valentino! Kirsten, definitely a Chanel! There's Monique ( there wasn't any Lhuiller this year, no?) . Sorry, the girl can't help it!

So at the risk of sounding like I dont have anything more important to do, here's my version of Oscar Fashion Six Degrees of Separation
♥m
Penelope Cruz must really like Charlize Theron.

Apart from the Red Carpet and Nicole Kidman, there's another Oscar regular - pink strapless gowns!

Noir Bete Noir?! Not all!
